Dr Kathryn Ellen Whittey is a marine biologist. She recently completed her PhD at Cardiff University where she researched coral reef species interactions. As an advocate for interdisciplinary research, Kathryn uses a mixture of photogrammetry, bioinformatics, artificial reefs and behavioural observations to conduct research on coral reef fishes interactions with their habitat.
As an ambassador for the Hydrous, Kathryn is passionate about the marine environment, science engagement and bridging the gap between people and the sea.
I am a Welsh speaker!
One of my aspirations is to make more science available through the welsh language, so some of my content will be in Welsh. If you see the orange logo it's in Welsh! |
Mae Kathryn Ellen Whittey yn fyfyrwyr bioleg môr ym mhrifysgol Caerdydd lle mae hi yn astudio'r rhyngweithiadau rhwng rhywogaethau a'u cynefin, riffiau cwrel. Gan ddefnyddio amrywiaeth o ddulliau fel creu modeli 3D o gwrel, 'bioinfformatics', riffiau ffug a sylwadau ymddygiadau o bysgod y riff, mae Kathryn yn archwilio pwysigrwydd y cynefin i rywogaethau'r riff. Mae Kathryn yn gynrychiolydd y Hydrous ac yn angerddol amdan bywyd gwyllt y môr, cyfathrebu gwyddoniaeth a chynyddu ein hymwybyddiaeth o fyd o dan y môr |
